GertrudeBEDSONNovember 2nd, 2014. After a long illness, Mrs. Trudy Bedson , nee Jones, passed away at Wrenbury Care Home, aged 87 years. Mrs. Bedson was born and brought up in Crewe and married her childhood sweetheart John Bedson in 1951. She had two sons and was an active member of the Townswomens Guild and the Family Planning Association. She became the first Mayoress of Crewe and Nantwich in 1973 and fulfilled the role with typical good humour and a large dose of patience. Trudy was a keen rambler and enjoyed a busy and active retirement until her illness was diagnosed. As well as husband John, Trudy leaves a sister, Margaret Stubbs, sons Michael and Nicholas, grandchildren Chris, Becky, Maria, Isabel and Oihana and great-grandchildren Fred, Trudy and Sid. A Funeral Service will be held at 2.00 p.m. on Thursday, November 13th at Saint Michael's Church, Coppenhall.
